About Us

Upskill was born out of a simple observation: some of the smartest, hardest-working people we knew — friends, family, and community members — weren't able to access the kinds of high-quality jobs available in industries like advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, and aerospace.

These were capable, motivated people. But many faced hurdles: working multiple jobs, raising kids, caring for loved ones, living in rural areas without reliable transportation, or simply not having the finances or interest in pursuing a traditional college pathway. Others didn't see themselves thriving in a classroom environment, even though they had all the qualities that make for great employees: strong work ethic, persistence, and the ability to learn on the job.

At the same time, when we visited factory floors and talked with hiring managers, CEOs, and supervisors, we kept hearing the same thing: "If someone has the skills, shows up, and has the right attitude, we'll hire them. We can teach the rest."

That's when it clicked: there was a gap between people with the potential to succeed and employers desperate for talent. We knew we could connect the two.

From the very beginning, we made it our mission to make training and education free — removing barriers for people who are ready to work and grow. Because we believe that a good job — one that pays fairly and lets you contribute to something meaningful — is life-changing. And we believe millions of people are looking for pathways to those jobs in today's rapidly changing world.

The name Baltu means "people." Even in a world being reshaped by technology, people remain at the heart of everything. That's why, we're committed to building pathways that connect people with technology-driven careers — creating opportunities that are accessible, rewarding, and built for the future.
